Barcelona have flown out to Dallas for a pre-Christmas friendly with Club America following their final La Liga game of 2023.
Xavi has taken all of his available first-team players apart from Ronald Araujo who has been left at home.
The defender did play against Almeria on Wednesday night, with Barca explaining why he’s been left out of the trip in a statement on their official website.
“Ronald Araujo is not travelling because he has medical check-ups scheduled regarding the knock he took to his jawbone and which means he has to play games wearing a facemask.”
Xavi has also included a host of youngsters for the match in Dallas which is set to bring in around €5 million.
“We know the club’s situation,” said Xavi about the friendly. “We all have to row in the same direction to sustain the club financially.”
Barca’s players will then head back after the game and be granted some time off before returning to action in January.
