France will try to clinch their spot in the 2024 UEFA European Championships when they visit Amsterdam on Friday to face ailing Netherlands in a Group B qualifier. Les Bleus (5-0-0) have cruised through Euro 2024 Qualifying, kicking things off with a 4-0 victory against the Dutch in Saint-Denis back in March. Now, the Oranje (3-0-1) come into the match at Johan Cruyff Arena with numerous key players out but still in strong position to qualify. The Dutch are second in the Group B table, tied with Greece but with a game in hand and a match against the Greeks set for Monday in Athens. A victory or Greece tie in Friday's games will clinch a spot for France at Euro 2024 in Germany next summer.

Friday's kickoff is set for 2:45 p.m. ET. The latest France vs. Netherlands odds list Le Bleus as +120 favorites (risk $100 to win $120), while the Flying Dutchmen are +215 underdogs. A draw is priced at +230 and the over/under for total match goals is 2.5. Before locking in any France vs. Netherlands picks, you need to see what proven SportsLine soccer insider Jon "Buckets" Eimer has to say.

Why you should back France

Les Bleus have already proven they can dominate the Dutch, and they have cruised past everyone since that 4-0 victory. France have fired off 73 shots in their past three matches while allowing just 25. Kylian Mbappe has four goals in group play and had a brace against the Dutch. The 24-year-old PSG superstar is fifth on France's all-time list with 40 goals in just 71 matches. Olivier Giroud is at the top of that list with 54 goals, and Antoine Griezmann is third with 44, and both remain key pieces.

France have outscored their group-stage foes 11-0, while the Netherlands have an 8-5 advantage in their four games. The Netherlands are missing a ton of key players, including two top defenders. PSG teammates Ousmane Dembele and Randal Kolo Muani, Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman and Inter Milan's Marcus Thuram also can join the France attack, and that spells trouble. That talent and depth led France to the World Cup final, where they lost to Argentina on penalties after a 3-3 draw. See which team to pick here.

Why you should back Netherlands

More than half of their preferred 11 are out with injuries, including scorers Memphis Depay and Cody Gakpo and star defender Jurrien Timber. That means the Dutch could slow things down and play for a draw. With Greece up next and games against Ireland and Gibraltar waiting, the Flying Dutchmen have a pretty clear path to qualify, but they won't give in easily at home. They have the defenders to slow down Mbappe and Co., and they still have some players who can create goals. The Oranje held the ball for 59% of the first meeting with France and had one fewer shot (12-11).

Veteran Wout Weghorst, Steven Bergwijn of Ajax and Borussia Dortmund's Donyell Malen have combined for 20 goals for the national team. Weghorst, a daunting presence in the box at 6-foot-6, scored his second goal of qualifying against Ireland, and left-back Nathan Ake also has two goals. Bergwijn has 15 goals for Ajax since the start of last season, and Malen has 57 goals in six pro seasons. Captain Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool will play a big role in locking things down in the back. See which team to pick here.
