Former Newcastle United manager Graeme Souness is likely to step down from his Sky Sports role as a pundit at the end of the season according to the Athletic.
Souness was in charge at St. James' Park from between 2004 and 2006 when he was unceremoniously sacked in February after leaving the Magpies in 15th, just above the relegation zone despite having spent £50 million on players in the 18 months prior.
The 69-year-old is most famous as a player for his time at Liverpool and Rangers during the 70's and 80's, winning five First Division titles with the Reds along with three European Cups.

Journalist Nick Millar wrote that while Souness 'has tended to sign three-year contracts to work as a pundit at Sky', but that last summer, the former Scottish international 'was happy to sign a one-year agreement for a set number of appearances on Sky'.
Millar continued saying that 'he is expected to take a step back at the end of this campaign' and that Souness has been a 'less frequent presence' on the channel's coverage in recent months.
It still remains to be seen if Souness will move to a different broadcaster after the season's end or not, meaning he might not bee off our television screens just yet.
