Swansea vs Liverpool – Premier League live!

Liverpool travel to basement boys Swansea tonight in search of all three points as they look to draw level with Chelsea on 50 points. Jurgen Klopp’s men are unbeaten in 18 games, an impressive record that stretches back to their 4-1 humbling at Tottenham. The same can’t be said for Swansea whose last defeat came at the turn of the year in a 2-0 loss by Tottenham. New manager Carlos Carvalhal has helped lift spirits at the Liberty – but will it be enough to fell visitors Liverpool? Follow all the

Post-match quotes from Jurgen Klopp

"We lost the game in the first half. Not only because we conceded a goal but because we didn't keep the positions we wanted to be in.

"It was not a good game in a lot of parts. We wanted to do it differently and obviously it didn't work out.

"We weren't secure in the things we did and we weren't confident. The clearest chance was in the last second. A point would have been OK but not what we wanted before the game so that wouldn't have made the game any better, to be honest. "

Post-match quotes from Carlos Carvalhal

The Swansea boss has just produced this gem of an analogy in his post-match interview with Sky Sports.

"I told my players that Liverpool is a really top team and they are really very strong but they are Formula 1.

"And if you put Formula 1 in London at 4 o'clock in the traffic, the Formula 1 will not run very fast.

"We made them play the way they don't like it."

Full-time - Swansea 1-0 Liverpool

The final whistle goes and Alfie Mawson's first-half goal has won this one for the Swans, who move level on points with 19th-placed West Brom.

Liverpool, meanwhile, remain fourth, two points ahead of Spurs in fifth and three points behind third-placed Chelsea.

90+4' - Off the post!

Roberto Firmino's header from Virgil van Dijk's cross cracks against the woodwork in the final minute of injury time and Swansea somehow scramble the ball behind for a corner.

What a finish to the match!
90+3' - Mo Salah has a late chance to equalise for Liverpool but his right-footed shot from a really tight angle goes high and wide of Lukasz Fabianski's goal.

That's a really poor finish from the visitors' star man.
90+1' - Swansea fail to clear their lines from an Adam Lallana cross and the ball falls nicely to Emre Can, who blazes a left-footed shot over the bar from just 12 yards out.

It doesn't look like it's going to be Liverpool's day.
90' - We'll have a minimum of four additional minutes at the end of this one.
Mo Salah is watched by Federico Fernandez

88' - Just a couple of minutes to go in this one. Will Liverpool snatch a point late on or will the Swans hold out for a crucial victory in their fight against relegation?
85' - Virgil van Dijk gets his head to Mo Salah's cross but the Liverpool defender's contact is poor and Lukasz Fabianski gathers the ball with ease.
82' - Virgil van Dijk goes for the spectacular as he volleys the ball towards goal from 25 yards. Unsurprisingly, the big Dutchman's effort lands off target.

Liverpool have had far more of the ball but they've largely been restricted to shots from distance tonight, which is a credit to how well Swansea have defended.
Lukasz Fabianski claims the ball under pressure from Mo Salah

79' - Wilfried Bony replaces Jordan Ayew for Swansea.
77' - The ball falls to Liverpool substitute Danny Ings after a scramble in the area but the striker's left-footed finish is well saved by Lukasz Fabianski down to his left.
73' - Danny Ings replaces Gini Wijnaldum for Liverpool.
71' - Some lovely link-up play involving Joel Matip, Emre Can and Mo Salah ends with the former rifling a shot over the bar from the edge of the area.
Jurgen Klopp encourages his players from the touchline

69' - For all their huffing and puffing, Liverpool are yet to create a bona fide clear-cut opportunity tonight.

Emre Can has just tried his luck from distance but his shot sailed well over the crossbar.
68' - Adam Lallana replaces Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for Liverpool.
