Just two years ago Nigerian midfielder Ahmed Musa had signed for Leicester City for a then club record £16.6 million and scored a brace against Barcelona.

Fast forward to 2018 and Musa's drop down the pecking order has been stark.

After falling from the first team after one appearance this season and ending up demoted to the Leicester City U21s, he's made a move to Russia in order to return to form.

Having now returned to his previous club CSKA Moscow, the international has admitted to Score Nigeria his spell in the East Midlands has been the most difficult of his career.

“It has been a difficult time for me at Leicester City, and in life you go through such times,” he said.

“I have not been disappointed but I have learnt from this experience.

“I will play for CSKA till the end of the season and return to England to what happens next.”

CSKA return from a winter break with a Europa League tie against Red Star Belgrade on February 13.
