Emerson Palmieri declares himself fit after securing Chelsea transfer
Emerson Palmieri has revealed he is fit and ready to play for Chelsea after completing his move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea confirmed the £25million deal on Tuesday in what was their second signing of the January transfer window.
Emerson played just 15 minutes for Roma in Serie A this season after picking up a serious knee injury last May.
Chelsea welcome Bournemouth to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night and Emerson has officially declared himself fit.
‘Yes, physically I feel great,’ he told the club’s official website.
‘The injury is now in the past, they were six difficult months for me but what is important is right now I feel good.

‘I couldn’t feel better so I only have in mind the idea of training with my team and helping us to achieve more.’
The Brazilian is set to play a key part in Antonio Conte’s side, a team that relies heavily on the versatility and work-rate of their wing-backs.
Conte has been asking Chelsea for additional full-backs since the summer and was furious Davide Zappacosta was the only such defender to arrive before the start of the 2017/18 season.
Chelsea have now met Conte’s request by signing Emerson and the 23-year-old admitted he was excited to begin working under the Italian manager.
‘Now I am definitely going to improve here at Chelsea under Antonio Conte,’ said the defender.
‘He is someone who has already shown that he is a great coach and everyone who plays with him improves.
‘I am coming to Chelsea with this perspective, that I am going to be playing with one of the best coaches in the world and I am going to get better.’
Emerson is set to be handed the No.33 shirt and will compete with Marcos Alonso for his full-back position after Chelsea sent Baba Rahman out on loan to Schalke.
The Blues have tied Emerson down to a four-and-a-half-year-deal and Chelsea are expected to present him to their fans before the Bournemouth game.
