Levante grabbed an equaliser right before half-time to ensure they went in at the break with the scores level.

Real Madrid had dominated the first half, and led throughn Sergio Ramos' header early on.

The Spanish defender rose to head a corner goalwards, and Karim Benzema's presence was enough to put Levante keeper Oier off as he failed to save the tame effort.

But Leventae struck back when Morales got in behind the Madrid back four and raced through on goal.

He couldn't finish, as Keylor Navas was equal to his strike, but Emmanuel Boateng followed up with a well-placed shot to make it 1-1.

Another counter! Lerma loses the ball and Bale is away on the right. Luna's desperate lunge deflects the ball up, allowing Oier to grasp the looping centre.

There is a delay before the corner as Navas receives attention, having blocked that shot with his face. It was a vital stop.

SAVE! Doucoure blocks again from the corner, then plays a wonderful ball through to Morales. He cannot beat Modric in the area, but the ball drops for Lerma. Navas saves well. Corner to Levante now. Breathless stuff.

BLOCK! Crucial defending! Modric has been superb and his pinpoint pass feeds Carvajal, who in turn tees up Ronaldo. A thunderous drive is blocked by Doucoure. Corner.

Modric picks out Carvajal on the right, but a poor first touch forces the full-back wide and his cross is straight into the grateful arms of Oier.

It's Levante's turn to keep the ball and they do so well, then picking out Luna on the left. A deep cross is nodded back across goal by Coke, but Navas claims.

Ronaldo feigns to shoot and crosses, with Ramos just inches away from the ball. He's offside, though. Good line from Levante.

Ronaldo's strike is again straight at the wall, this time deflecting through for another corner. Madrid go short and Modric eventually wins another free-kick, this one further out, from Boateng.

Lukic brings down Modric, giving Madrid another free-kick on the edge of the area...

Modric's backheel does not find Bale, but the Welshman's running forces Luna to put the ball behind. The corner reaches Marcelo, whose shot is blocked.

Levante are certainly matching Madrid physically right now. They win one free-kick in the midfield and then Ivi goes shoulder to shoulder with Carvajal. Madrid manage to play the ball out.

Rober Pier dallies on the ball in his own area, but Lerma bails his team-mate out and Levante can attack. Lerma then gets forward to meet Morales' pass, shooting into a defender. Good work.

Levante are looking to start the second half as they ended the first, with Ivi shooting off target. Madrid need to rediscover their earlier rhythm.

Morales has been the danger man for the hosts, though, and it was no surprise to see the Levante captain involved as Boateng equalised. It was a fine end to the half from Juan Ramon Lopez Muniz's men.

Levante made the early running, but an error from Oier gifted the opener to Ramos and Madrid. The champions then dominated until around the 40-minute mark.

Half time: Levante 1-1 Real Madrid

Well, it was all going so well for Real Madrid. Dominating possession, in control, a goal up. But then Emmanuel Boateng struck right before the half. Sergio Ramos’ header had put the visitors’ in the lead early on. But Los Blancos failed to add to their lead, and Levante levelled up the scores when Boateng slotted home after Navas saved a one-on-one from Morales.

HALF-TIME: Levante 1 Madrid 1

Ivi and Luna link up well on the left, but Bale is again there. Levante are on top as the half comes to a close.

The corner is cleared, but Madrid struggle to move the ball quickly on the break and Lerma dives into the challenge. Levante are moving forward again...

GOAL! Levante 1-1 Real Madrid

Levante have levelled things up here right before the half time break. Emmanuel Boateng has scored the goal and is the first Levante player to get a goal at their home ground since November 5th. The hosts got in behind Madrid as Morales raced through on goal. Keylor Navas made a good save but it came back out to Boateng who executed a well-placed finish from the edge of the box to make it 1-1.

Levante are on the front foot now. Morales beats Marcelo, with Casemiro forced to concede a corner.

GOAL! Levante equalise against the run of play! Morales streaks away from Ramos, forcing Navas into a good stop. The ball runs kindly for Boateng, though, and he calmly rolls a finish beyond the goalkeeper. 1-1.

Levante attack down the left for the first time, but Bale shows great determination to get back at Luna and block the cross. Madrid come away with the ball once more.

Ronaldo is yet to really trouble Oier, barring that offside effort, and he is now denied as he fouls Postigo in the area. The defender does well.

High and wide! Ramos dashes forward up the left and gives the ball away, allowing Lerma to step in. He feeds Ivi and, 25 yards from goal, the shot is a poor one.

Ronaldo gets in on the left and forces a smart low stop from Oier, but the flag is up. It's a good call.

Bale's pass is cut out and Lukic does really well to keep possession for Levante, but the hosts are simply too slow in possession and Madrid have men there quickly. The ball is soon back with the visitors.
