John Daly did not win the Chubb Classic on Sunday on the PGA Tour Champions, but he did hit the shot of the day. Daly aced the 162-yard, par-3 16th to get to 13 under on the week (where he finished) and slide into the top 10 of the event.
Daly finished a few strokes back of the eventual winner, but who cares about the eventual winner when you can get Daly on a Sunday in American flag pants making an ace.
His caddie's reaction was fantastic, too, as he goes in for the awkward hug with Daly. As the announcer noted, Daly joins Tom Watson as golfers who have aced the 16th at TwinEagles in Naples, Florida.
The top 10 is Daly's first of the season on the PGA Tour Champions (in two tries). He also made the cut at the Safeway Open on the PGA Tour last fall. Daly had just two top-10 finishes (including a win) in 2017 on the PGA Tour Champions.
