The Romania international looks to be on his way out of Ibrox this summer after struggling for game time.

Former Romania boss Ilie Dumitrescu has claimed that Ianis Hagi is in a "delicate" situation at Rangers after being left unhappy by the lack of game time under Michael Beale.

The playmaker was vocal on his frustration over a lack of game time frustrations clear after the weekend's narrow Viaplay Cup win over Morton - having spent most of last season sidelined through a nightmare ACL injury. Hagi was then bombed out of the squad for the crucial Champions League qualifying play-off against PSV Eindhoven with Beale admitting that Hagi's agent had been in talks over a move away from the Scottish Premiership side.

Pundit Dumitrescu has stated that during talks with Ianis' father Gheorghe - with the former Real Madrid and Barcelona legend painting a bleak picture of Hagi Jr's time at Ibrox despite only penning a new deal keeping him at the club until 2026 earlier this year. Speaking to Digi Sport: "Mentally it's extraordinary, you know. Of course, he can't be happy with this status, but he said that he is at the coach's disposal.

"It's a delicate subject, you can't talk too much about it even with Ianis. He wants to prove himself, to become the player he was before the damn injury. Let's not forget that we could also have a player in the Europa League final if the injury didn't intervene. He's very strong mentally."

Elsewhere, free agent Filip Helander has spoken about his desire to win a contract at Malmo after leaving Ibrox last summer. The 30-year-old had to watch from the stands as Rangers flourished in the Europa League and won the Scottish Cup and was unable to play a minute of football last term before his contract in Govan expired.

However, Helander is looking to kickstart his career with his former club after training with the Swedish club throughout the summer. The centre-back has set his target on playing more reserve games to win over potential suitors.

Speaking to Sydsvenskan, Helander said: "The next step is to do more in match action. Then you get to practice football and after that who knows."

Helander headed through the Ibrox exit door alongside prospect Robbie Ure. But the 19-year-old looks to be edging closer to finding a new club.

Reports in Belgium suggest that Anderlecht have offered the striker a trial. Belgian journalist Guillaume Raedts of outlet was watching an Anderlecht XI take on Patro Eisden in a friendly match where he noted Ure was given a chance to impress.
