Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans is expected to miss between four to six weeks with ankle ligament damage, after sustaining an injury at the weekend.

Tielemans received treatment during the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal upon landing awkwardly when he jumped to compete for a header with Granit Xhaka. Although the Belgian returned to the pitch to play through to full-time, he was seen wearing a protective boot and was on crutches as he exited the ground.

City boss Brendan Rodgers said on Monday: "We’re just waiting on the scan results for Youri, that will come through today. It doesn’t look good. He did incredibly well to come back onto the pitch.

"He showed real bravery to try to help the team. When you see it, it looks a nasty one. We just have to see what the results are. He’s been brilliant in my time here. In fairness to Youri, he’s always been available. He’s a top-class player, so to not have his availability for a number of games is not ideal. It provides an opportunity for other players."

It has now been confirmed Tielemans will endure a lengthy spell on the sidelines as he is not expected to return until mid-April.
