A defender was left unconscious during a Mexican League clash between Atlas and UNAM Pumas on Sunday night, as striker Juan Dinenno attempted a bicycle kick late on.
Pumas led 1-0 in the second leg of their semi-final clash with Atlas, but needed another goal to book their place in the final against Club Leon.
While searching for a goal deep into injury time, Dinenno went for the spectacular in an attempt to come up with the goods, but instead collided with Jesus Angulo.
Dinenno was instantly sent off for his challenge, as medics rushed to the scene of the defender.
After already scoring the opener, Dinenno went in search of another as he looked to send his side through to the Mexican Apertura final against Leon, but his desperation came at the expense of Angulo who received a boot to the face.
Of course, the incident was a freak accident and Dinenno had no bad intention, which was confirmed after he made little protest after being issued a straight red card, and instead focused on the Atlas defender.
Players from both sides frantically gestured to medical staff who treated Angulo immediately, as Dinenno left the field shocked and upset about what had just happened.

Thankfully, Angulo was responsive and was moving freely just minutes after the contact, and despite the usual concussion protocol, the defender walked off the field before being assesses further on the sidelines.
Against all the odds, with the game deep into injury time, Angulo pushed to get back onto the pitch, and doctors eventually gave the defender the all clear to return to the pitch.
Angulo was able to celebrate with his side as they made the final for the first time since 1999, and now Leon stand in their way as they look to win their first title since 1951.
