Jayden Reed has proven to be the top wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers over the last several weeks, but he recorded zero catches in the 48-32 win for Green Bay over the Dallas Cowboys. Reed has been one of the most reliable receiving options for quarterback Jordan Love.
Jayden Reed caught 64 passes for 793 yards receiving and eight touchdowns, along with 12.4 yards per receiving during the regular season. He also had 11 carries for 119 yards rushing and two touchdowns, along with averaging 10.8 yards per carry for Green Bay this year.
The fact that the Packers’ offense scored six touchdowns on the first seven offensive possessions without Reed getting a single touch in the game goes to show how deep and lethal this offense is.
The leading receiver for Green Bay on Sunday was Romeo Doubs with six receptions for 151 yards receiving and one touchdown. His lone touchdown reception came on a three-yard pass from Jordan Love in the fourth quarter.
To go along with the receivers they have, the two rookie tight ends are also impressive. Luke Musgrave had a 38-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. He caught three passes for 52 yards receiving and a touchdown.
Dontayvion Wicks, another rookie wide receiver, also caught a 20-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter for Green Bay and they went up 20-0 after that. Wicks had two receptions for 25 yards receiving and a score.
Christian Watson also played some snaps in this one but was limited because of his hamstring. Aaron Jones owned the Cowboys’ defense on the ground rushing for 118 yards on 21 carries and three touchdowns. He had a 3-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter, a 1-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter, and a 9-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Jayden Reed Hype After the Win Against the Dallas Cowboys
Even with Jayden Reed not having a single catch against the Dallas Cowboys for the Green Bay Packers, he was very hype about the win. Green Bay is the youngest team in the NFL and Reed had some things to say when Green Bay went to the locker room after the game against Dallas.
Lauren Helmbrecht caught on video of wfrvsports and he said,
“The youngest? That’s crazy! They said we couldn’t do it.”
The Packers will continue to have the us against the world mentality for the rest of the postseason. They will be doubted to win once again when they have to go on the road in the NFC Divisional Round and face the top-seeded San Francisco 49ers this Saturday night.
