Opening weekend brings about what you would expect in a February weekend: Lots of chill.

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Snap off the rubber-band-wrapped gloves, grab your lucky hat, and fill up your bubble machines: Baseball is BACK in Aggieland!

We've had our share of both warm and chilly opening days for Aggie Baseball over the years.

We’ve never been warmer than 80 degrees on an opening day. With varying levels of damp and soggy, we’ve seen a LOT of 50s/60s weather. Guess what: You’ll want to prepare for 50s/60s weather and MAYBE some damp - for opening night specifically.

Friday Rain?

A passing low pressure system will zip across the Texas Coast over the course of the day Friday. Said system is expected to bring lots of light to moderate rain to areas along and south of I-10 from Houston to San Antonio, then east of that area by Friday night into Saturday.

Friday's front features an "inconvenient at best" rain scenario where a lucky few of us may tally up to a quarter inch of rain. Best chance for that will be Friday through the mid-evening.(KBTX)

As high resolution models have started to reach into Friday, we’re growing more confident that the worst weather we will see will be damp and incovenient, rather than soggy and dreadful. We know that the Olsen faithful would arrive in any weather (it’s opening night, of course) but at the moment, a good rain jacket should be about all you need, if that. IF this low looks to track a little farther north, we will make some adjustments to the forecast. For now, though, plan for 60s and a quick, passing light shower, with the potential for a north wind switch toward the end of the game making things feel a little more brisk.

The rest of the weekend: Be ready for a chilly north wind!

Speaking of BRISK: Saturday especially looks to bring some BITING air with wind chills in the 30s and 40s for most of the day. Don’t be shy about piling on the extra layers: Remember that north breeze can make any part of the stadium chilly, even when we reach into the 60s and 70s.

Sunday, you’ll want your shades (on sixth). Beautiful sunshine will warm us up to about 60, but that likely means, once again, you’ll want your jacket through the entire game.

Biggest room for change in the forecast is that rain chance for Friday, so we’ll keep you updated. In the meantime, Gig ‘em and BTHO McNeese!
