The Texas Rangers scored two runs but the Anaheim Angels scored seven runs.

Tonight’s starter Michael Lorenzen made a mess of things early in this one as he couldn’t find the strike zone and allowed four runs to score off hits by the Angels’ No. 8 and No. 9 hitters in the second inning and a fifth run an inning later.

But even trailing big, the Rangers certainly had their chances with two bases loaded, one-out situations. Of course, as has been the case in most bases loaded situations for the Rangers this season, they blew it completely.

After failing to produce when giving their shot, the Angels made it moot when No. 8 hitter Zach Neto hit a two-run home run off debuting reliever Daniel Robert to snuff out the chances for a victory, a sweep, and a continued winning streak.

Player of the Game: Leody Taveras hit a two-run home run to pull Texas to within striking distance but they unfortunately couldn’t get the hit to overtake Anaheim.

Up Next: The Rangers have tomorrow off before concluding the first half with a series against the Astros in Houston.
