Memorial Tournament Tracker

UPDATE No. 4 (12:45 p.m. ET): Phil Mickelson makes four straight birdies from Nos. 4-7 and he’s now 7 under and four back.

Remember, he came home in 30 yesterday to not only make the weekend but himself on the fringe of contention heading into Saturday.

UPDATE No. 3 (12:10 p.m. ET): McIlroy has to scramble around the last three holes, but he somehow comes out of it with three straight pars.

That means an 8-under 64 for Rors. He’s now T-4 after starting the day T-69. He’ll probably be worse than T-4 and within three of the lead by day’s end. Regardless, he’s back in contention here.

UPDATE No. 2 (11:30 a.m. ET): McIlroy birdies Nos. 12 and 13 as well!

He actually parred 14 and 15 (despite having just 205 yards for his second shot at the par 5), but he’s now 8 under for the round and overall. He’s jumped 65 spots to T-4 and is now just three back.

Chris Kirk is in with a 66 and is T-17 at 6 under. Some other low rounds out there today, but nobody has touched Rory’s.

UPDATE No. 1 (10:40 a.m. ET): Are low scores out there Saturday at Muirfield Village? They sure are!

Rory McIlroy is 6 under through 11 on his round and rocketed 54 spots to a tie for 15th at 6 under. The same with Chris Kirk (through 14), and he made the cut on the number, like McIlroy, after making par following a topped tee shot. David Lingmerth is 7 under through eight and now T-3 at 9 under.

Of course, once the lead groups go off, they will make birdies, too, we imagine, and these guys won’t be so far up the leaderboard. Regardless, this is nice to see.
