The Bharat Army has joined hands with Female Cricket to come up with an initiative called 'My First World Cup'.

Cricket is a sport that is hugely followed in India. The craze for the sport is such that it feels like a religion. People from various age groups get in touch with the game from a very young age. And at one point in life a fan dreams of witnessing a cricket game live from the stadium. The experience of watching the game from the stadium paves the way for shaping the dreams, inspiring young kids irrespective of gender to take up the sport and consider it as a career opportunity. And to facilitate that, The Bharat Army has joined hands with Female Cricket to come up with an initiative called ‘My First World Cup’.

Female Cricket, the most prominent digital media platform promoting women’s cricket was launched on 6th February 2016, with a vision to build a platform that would talk, spread, share, and celebrate the journey of our female cricketers around the world. The platform was founded by Vishal Yadav, a die-hard cricket fan who grew up watching the greats like Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni and wanted to pursue a career in the cricket industry. He came up with a revolutionary idea of establishing this platform to channel his love, passion, and emotions for the game of women’s game.

Female Cricket has collaborated with the Bharat Army, team India’s official global supporters group. They were established in the year 1999, with the values of showing passion for team India, home and away, respecting all players teams, and fans on and off the field, and being the 12th man/woman on the field. They have become famous in its association with Team India for its passionate and committed support traveling around the world supporting Team India for over 20 years.

The objective of this collaboration is to empower the young dreams and grant the young girls an unforgettable experience of witnessing their first-ever World Cup match live in the stadium, marking it a potential turning point in the careers of aspiring women cricketers. Young women and girls from various academies will be getting an opportunity to witness an unforgettable experience.

Over 500 entries were received across social media platforms, out of which 130 girls were selected from Mumbai. The selected candidates will be having their first-ever experience of watching a World Cup game live from the stadium watching the superstars in action during the Bangladesh vs South Africa match at the Wankhede Stadium on 24th October 2023.

The game will witness stars like Quinton de Cock, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klassen, Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada, Litton Das, and Mustafizur Rahman in action and the girls are already excited to watch these stars.
