Golf fans were confused when the PGA Tour appeared to fire a dig at the US PGA by posting a clarification message on social media.
The PGA Championship begins on Thursday, as members of the PGA Tour and LIV Golf meet once again in the second major competition of the year. Some fans still don't realise that the PGA and the PGA Tour are different entities, but the latter set the record straight with a post on X.
They posted a picture containing both logos, clarifying underneath their branding "Us" and writing underneath the PGA logo "Not us". They wrote above the picture "Let's have a week @PGA" but it didn't seem to convince fans that their message was positive.
It's not known if their message was educational or out of frustration for being associated with the PGA, but LIV Golf ended up being the ones to take the high road. They reposted the PGA Tour's post and added: "Let's all have a week @PGATour @PGA."

The US PGA is a group of golf instructors, who run the PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup. The PGA Tour on the other hand is a golf tour with many of the best players, although lots have left for the Saudi breakaway league, LIV Golf.
Just like they did at the Masters, which is run by Augusta National, the two entities will clash at the PGA Championship held in Louisville, Kentucky. LIV Golf star Brooks Koepka is the current champion, but was one of the shock underperformers at the Masters.

Koepka, who finished second behind Jon Rahm in 2023, finished nine-over-par at Augusta and is using that failure to focus on getting things right in Louisville. "I think the embarrassment of Augusta really kicked things into overdrive for me and really having to put my nose down and grind it out a little bit harder and having to look my team in the eye and apologize," Koepka said. "I'm not looking to do that again."
The American has won the PGA Championship three times in his career, becoming a strong favourite course for the 34-year-old. In 2018 he managed to win the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open, and he's keen to try and repeat that accomplishment to make up for his Masters downfall.
"I've gone back-to-back with the PGA and the U.S. Open. Hopefully, looking to do it again," Koepka said. "I don't know if it's ever been done [twice], but it would be a cool thing. I've tried the three-peat, but I'm not very good at it."
Koepka is third in the betting markets to win the event, being priced at 12/1 behind both Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. The PGA Championship was the last major that McIlroy won back in 2014. Scheffler has never won it, but was tied-second behind Koepka last year.
