As the Cricket Cranes take a break from a gruelling first round of the Challenge League B, the second-string side (Uganda A) heads to Rwanda for a series against three other sides; Rwanda XI, Rwanda A, and Zimbabwe A.
The Uganda A side is composed of a great mix of youth and experience and will be a great experience for some new players at a high level. The Uganda A side is the second-string side for the Cricket Cranes and players will be looking at making an impression so that they can put their hands for selection for the next upcoming Cricket Cranes engagements.
Roger Mukasa will lead the side and alongside Simon Ssesazi, they will be the go-to players for the side especially for runs. Jonathan Ssebanja and Ivan Baidhu will be required to make the breakthroughs with the impressive Joseph Baguma also expected to make contributions with the ball.
Pascal Murungi, who didn’t get much playing time with the Cricket Cranes, has been slotted into the team and this will allow him to show his potential. Calvin Watuwa, who has had a great year locally, also gets an opportunity to impress on the international level.
The team travels by road to Kigali and will play their first game on Thursday against the Rwanda XI.
