Madison Keys v Caroline Garcia Head to Head
Keys leads the head-to-head over Garcia 2-1. But the pair of them haven’t clashed since the 2018 Australian Open where the American won that match in straight sets.

Keys Stops the Rot By Beating Kalinskaya
Madison Keys snapped her three-match losing streak with a battling victory over Anna Kalinskaya. The American was one of the most vulnerable seeded players to fall in the opening round. Her clay-court campaign before the French Open was not the most fruitful period of her 2022 season.
Keys lost three of her four matches on the dirt before this week, cooling off her scintillating form in the first three months of the calendar in which she played tennis at a frenetic pace.
In the first set against Kalinskaya, it appeared Keys had rediscovered her mojo when she sped to take a 5-1 lead. When Kalinskaya retrieved one of the breaks back, it was all a little too late as Keys bagged the set 6-3.
The second set was on a seesaw with momentum shifts galore. Ultimately, it was the Russian World No. 86 who stayed composed in the crucial moments and showed a little more consistency on serve to draw level.
With momentum on her side, Kalinskaya went on to establish a 2-1 lead with a break of serve in the decider. But that lead did not last long as Keys restored parity, outmuscling her opponent with raw power. And in the tenth game of the set, the American number 22 seed broke again for the win.
Garcia Impresses in Front of Home Crowd
On Court Suzanne Lenglen, Caroline Garcia was playing just her first match of the European clay-court swing. But it almost felt like the Frenchwoman had not missed a ball in recent weeks.
Garcia took down an in-form Taylor Townsend in straight sets, firing seven aces and averaging just over 70% of first-serve points won. She also broke the American three times in the contest.
Townsend had been in fine fettle in recent months, having made back-to-back quarterfinals at two ITF events in the US, whilst also winning the ITF tournament in Charleston at the start of May.
But for all that momentum, it accounted for nothing as Garcia showed her steely resolve and fed on the crowd’s energy to pick up just her seventh win of a very difficult season.
Garcia has only advanced beyond the second round three times in 11 main draw appearances at the French Open. Can she make it four against the number 22 seed Madison Keys?
Keys v Garcia Prediction and Tip
Keys is heavily favored to win, but I am not entirely convinced the American has found her footing on the clay. Garcia, by comparison, has not played any matches on the dirt prior to this week. Both players to win a set seems a viable option here.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
