Adam Henrique receives a warm welcome in his first game back in New Jersey

Adam Henrique spent the first eight years of his NHL career with the New Jersey Devils.

Henrique experienced his fair share of memorable moments in New Jersey. From his famous goal headlined by scoring one of the most iconic goals in Devils history en route to his first trip to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2012. After eight years and a handful of games, Henrique's time as a Devil came to an end. The Anaheim Ducks acquired Henrique in a multi-player trade that involved defenseman Sami Vatanen on Nov. 30.

On Dec. 18, Henrique made his return to the Prudential Center as the Ducks are in the middle of their Eastern Conference road trip. As expected, New Jersey gave the 27-year-old a proper welcome back.

It isn't too common for a player to make a swift return after being traded away — especially if it involves a player transitions from the Eastern Conference to Western Conference, or vice versa. That's not Henrique's case, though. Nearly three weeks passed since Henrique was dealt to Anaheim. The immensely small window leaves Henrique with a variety of emotions.

"I don't know if it will be a good thing or it will make it tougher," Henrique told NHL Network prior to the game . "But everything's been great so far and I'm excited for tonight."

Henrique has six points in his last nine appearances with Anaheim, but has remained scoreless in his last three games.
