Cards' QB situation worse than even the Browns!

With literally nobody at the position under contract, they are worse off than even the Cleveland Browns.

With literally nobody at the position under contract, they are worse off than even the Cleveland Browns.

The Arizona Cardinals find themselves in a tough situation at quarterback. Fans trust the front office will get the situation remedied, but until then, it is hard to be optimistic about their prospects.

In fact, the situation is so dire they come in dead last in ESPN’s QB confidence index. They officially have the worst situation in the league in terms of hope.

QBs under contract: None

Yeah, that means nobody. Not a guy whose last name is “None.” The Cardinals’ quarterback depth chart has no names on it right now, with Carson Palmer having retired and Drew Stanton, Matt Barkley and Blaine Gabbert all headed for free agency. Moreover, the Cardinals feel farther from contention than some of the teams (Minnesota, Denver, Buffalo) in similar situations. And they don’t pick until No. 15. Arizona will have somebody, but do you have any confidence in who it will be?

How can anyone feel confident in the Cardinals’ situation? They have no one. They don’t have the cap space to attract the top quarterbacks. They don’t have a high enough draft pick to grab the top prospects.

They do, though, have arguably the most talented roster among those teams who are seeking a quarterback.

They also have a well-respected general manager. However, without the means or the draft capital, it is impossible to feel overly optimistic about what 2018 will be.
