Rockets' Game 6 watch party to benefit Santa Fe High; team raises $100,000

Houston will donate all the admission proceeds from the watch party it held for Game 6 of the Western Conference finals.

The Rockets' support of the Santa Fe High School community reached another level Saturday.

The Houston Chronicle reported the team will donate $100,000 to the Houston-area school's Santa Fe Strong Memorial Fund, collected from admissions to the team's watch party at Toyota Center for Game 6 of the Western Conference finals (10,000 fans paying $10 apiece).

A gunman killed 10 people and wounded 13 others at the school on May 18. The Rockets honored victims, survivors and first responders in an emotional pregame ceremony prior to Game 5 of the series.

In addition, Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta invited the school's senior class and local law enforcement officers to attend the game free.

The Rockets organization will have another opportunity to support Santa Fe on Monday night after the team's Game 6 loss evened the series 3-3.
