North Dakota State star receiver and NFL prospect Christian Watson out with hamstring injury

FARGO — North Dakota State will be without one of the most dynamic players in the FCS for its second round playoff game against Southern Illinois today. Wide receiver Christian Watson suffered an apparent leg injury this week in practice.

Bison head coach Matt Entz told Bison 1660 radio that Watson was sidelined with a hamstring injury he's been dealing with for a few weeks.

The flu may also play a part in NDSU's lineup. Starting linebacker Jasir Cox and key defensive line backup Will Mostaert are also out. That would make a starter of sophomore linebacker Cole Wisniewski, who has turned in some key games in a backup role this season.

The Salukis aren't without injury problems, either. Receiver Avante Cox, who has 43 receptions for 739 yards and five touchdowns, was hurt late in the team's first round playoff win over South Dakota last weekend and was not dressed.
