According to The Athletic’s Peter Baugh, the Colorado Avalanche scratched left-wing Andre Burakovsky for Game 4 of their second-round Stanley Cup Playoff series against the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center on Monday.

The 27-year-old has earned a goal and three points in seven postseason games but all of them came in the Avalanche’s 5-3 win in Game 4 over the Nashville Predators on May 9, which sent the team to the second round. Burakovsky played just nine and a half minutes in Game 3 of their second round series with the Blues.

Burakovsky finished the regular season with career-highs in goals (22), assists (39), points (61), and games played (80).

This is the first time Burakovsky has been scratched since getting traded to the Avalanche by the Washington Capitals, who dealt him on June 28, 2019 after Burakovsky requested to be moved.

The Avalanche lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.

Center Alex Newhook replaced Burakovsky in the Avalanche’s lineup for Game 4.

Monday marked four-year anniversary of Burakovsky’s two-goal performance in Game 7 of the 2018 Eastern Conference Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena, which lifted the Capitals to a 4-0 win and their first Stanley Cup Final appearance in 20 years.
