The stars are beginning to align for the Braves as far as injuries are concerned. Tyler Matzek and Eddie Rosario were added to the active roster today, and Kenley Jansen isn’t too far behind as he’s expected to be re-activated when he is eligible on July 12th. Those three will provide a tremendous boost to an already red-hot Braves squad. When Matzek and Jansen are healthy, there isn’t a better bullpen in baseball, and Rosario’s left-handed bat adds more versatility to the lineup.

With those three back in the fold, it’s almost an embarrassment of riches at Brian Snitker‘s disposal, and the Braves might not be done adding. According to the manager himself, Soroka is close to beginning his rehab stint, which he said is scheduled for 30 days.

Given Soroka’s been out of the game for two years, there’s no way the Braves are going to rush him, but I would assume the 30 days is nothing more than an estimation. They probably expect him to make around five starts in the minors, but it could be more or less, depending on how he looks each time out. I don’t expect to see him in July, but a mid-August return seems very probable, providing there are no setbacks.
