The Los Angeles Rams steamrolled the Denver Broncos on Christmas this week, blowing them out by a score of 51-14. As 3-point underdogs, it was an outcome no one expected, especially considering how poorly the Rams offense has played all year.
Yet, despite crushing the Broncos on Sunday, the Rams are still big underdogs to the Chargers in Week 17. According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Chargers are favored by 7 points over the Rams next week.
The Chargers are technically the home team, but it’ll essentially be a home game for the Rams too considering they both play at SoFi Stadium. So there’s no real home-field advantage accounted for in that spread.
The over/under is set at 41 points, which is the highest total for a Rams game in a few weeks. Oddsmakers are clearly expecting the Rams to play relatively well on offense after suddenly coming alive against Denver. The Chargers offense has played well this season with Justin Herbert and Austin Ekeler leading the way, too.
The Rams have been eliminated from playoff contention but the Chargers are still very much in the race, especially if they beat the Colts on Monday night.
Kickoff of the Rams-Chargers game was moved from 8:20 to 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday so it will no longer be a prime-time game.
