The Vancouver Canucks and the Pittsburgh Penguins meet in NHL action from the PPG Paints Arena on Tuesday night.

The Vancouver Canucks will look to bounce back from a 7-4 loss at the hands of the Winnipeg Jets last time out. Elias Pettersson leads the Canucks with 47 points including 30 assists with 17 goals while Bo Horvat has 44 points with a team-high 29 goals and 15 assists. J.T. Miller has 35 points with 15 goals while Quinn Hughes has 30 assists and Andrei Kuzmenko has 35 points with 17 goals and 18 assists. Thatcher Demko’s gone 3-10-2 with a 3.93 GAA and an .883 save percentage while Spencer Martin’s 11-8-1 with a 3.67 GAA and an .881 save percentage so far this season in goal for Vancouver.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will hope to build on their 4-1 win over Arizona in their last game. Sidney Crosby has a team-high 47 points with 20 goals and 27 assists while Evgeni Malkin has 35 points split between 12 goals and 23 assists. Jake Guentzel has also chipped in 37 points with 17 goals and 20 assists this season. Tristan Jarry has gone 15-5-4 with a 2.78 GAA and a .917 save percentage while Casey DeSmith is 5-8-2 with a 3.00 GAA and a .909 save percentage in goal for Pittsburgh this season.

Vancouver is 1-4 in their last 5 games overall and 1-7 in their last 8 games against the Metropolitan division while the over is 2-0-2 in their last 4 games following a loss by 3 or more goals. Pittsburgh is 8-1 in their last 9 games against the Western Conference and 1-6 in their last 7 games overall while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 Tuesday games.

I get the case to be made on either side in this game, but I’m backing the Penguins -1.5 here. This just feels like a solid get right spot for the Pens after a bit of a rough patch lately as they’re the better team in my opinion. The home team’s also won 4 of the last 5 meetings convincingly so give me the Penguins -1.5 here.

Chris Ruffolo's Free Pick:
Pittsburgh -1.5
