Devon Witherspoon still not practicing, Geno Smith limited again

The Seattle Seahawks have wrapped up their Friday practice ahead of their Week 15 must-win showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles. For the second consecutive practice, quarterback Geno Smith was limited with a groin injury, while cornerback Devon Witherspoon was absent due to a hip pointer.

Smith spoke to reporters at Friday’s media availability, which is traditionally a positive sign toward playing on gameday. He said he’s “feeling better” each day, but said “we’ll see” whether or not that means he’s going to play. Seattle made sure that Drew Lock got some first-team reps.

Witherspoon’s absence could be a big one for a Seahawks defense that’s already struggling with him, but will surely be in more trouble without him on the field. Embattled safety Jamal Adams also didn’t practice, although that could be pseudo-maintenance for his knee. Dee Eskridge didn’t practice due to a rib injury, which could jeopardize his availability to be a healthy scratch. Nick Bellore was also a DNP for a second day in a row.

Jordyn Brooks and Anthony Bradford joined Geno as limited participants, but otherwise the injury report is largely positive. Tre Brown seems on track to play after missing last week’s game with a heel injury.

Here’s the full injury report for the Seahawks:

Update: Darrell Taylor has been added to the injury report as a DNP (abdomen).

Philadelphia’s side is pretty light, although linebacker Zach Cunningham and cornerback Darius Slay remain DNPs for a second day in a row. We’ll get game designations on Saturday.
