Alabama punter James Burnip left Kyle Field in the second quarter. According to the CBS broadcast, it is a lower-body injury for the Australian redshirt junior.

Burnip had attempted a tackle on his third punt of the game against Texas A&M and appeared to injure himself. He spent time in the sideline medical tent before walking back into the Crimson Tide locker room.

Placekicker Will Reichard, who hadn’t punted since his freshman year in 2019, boomed a 40-yarder as Burnip received medical attention.

Burnip was averaging 48.9 yards per punt across 22 attempts entering Saturday. Nine of those tries were downed inside the opponents’ 20-yard line. His prior tries against the Aggies had mediocre results. His first was a 29-yard shank which he followed up with a 63-yarder.
