The senior defensive back needed assistance to limp off the field in the second half.

Alabama defensive back Malachi Moore was carted off the field in the first half during the Crimson Tide’s game against Texas A&M.

The senior appeared to be caught in a pile on a pass play and remained down while teammates Dallas Turner and Kool-Aid McKinstry checked on him. Moore eventually was helped off the field by two members of UA’s training staff. It appears Moore refrained from putting pressure on his right leg as he limped.

He spent some time in the medical tent on Alabama’s sideline before a cart was driven out to carry him into the locker room. A few coaches and players dapped up Moore before he left Kyle Field. Moore entered Saturday fifth on the defense with 27 total tackles. He also recorded a pass breakup, a quarterback hit and an interception.

He exited the game with three tackles and was replaced by Kristian Story. The Aggies went on a 14-0 run to end the half amid Moore’s departure, its defense and special teams creating favorable opportunities against the Tide.

Texas A&M led 17-10 at halftime. Earlier in the second quarter, Alabama punter James Burnip was substituted after he suffered a lower-body injury.
