Fernando Morientes was officially named new coach of CF Fuenlabrada. On Friday afternoon, the Madrid club announced the appointment of the former Real Madrid striker as their trainer for the next two seasons. It will be the first time Morientes takes charge of a first-team squad after spending the past two campaigns coaching Real Madrid’s B teams.
Along with Beñat Labaien, Morientes will lead an ambitious project in attempt to inject quality into both the third tier of Spanish football and the club from Madrid, who had a difficult season fighting against relegation.
Morientes will officially be unveiled on Monday 29 June in the Estadio Fernando Torres.
