Liverpool and Spurs will both aim to keep pace with the early Premier League leader Manchester City on Sunday, facing West Ham United and Arsenal respectively as the top flight returns after the midweek European fixtures.
The Reds and Tottenham are level on 13 points apiece as things stand, with both teams having won four times so far this season and drawn once. The pair play each other at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next Saturday.
Before that, Liverpool has to face West Ham in the league and then Leicester City in the Carabao Cup. Spurs, having not qualified for any European competition and having already been knocked out of the first domestic competition of the campaign, have a second successive free week in which to work on things.

One match at a time, though, as the saying goes. Liverpool will need to be at its best to get the three points against a West Ham side that only Manchester City has beaten so far during 2023/24.

What time is kick-off?
Liverpool vs West Ham kicks off at Anfield at 2pm UK time (6am east coast and 9am west coast) having been moved from a Saturday slot because of both teams being involved in the Europa League.
This game last season ended 1-0 to Liverpool with Darwin Núñez scoring the only goal of the match midway through the first half. At the London Stadium, Cody Gakpo and Joël Matip secured a 2-1 victory for the Reds, who had gone a goal down.
Is the match on TV?
In the UK, the match is NOT being televised. This is because it was initially going to be a 3pm Saturday kick-off (not picked for a TV slot). It was then switched to being a day later because of the Europa League. Arsenal vs Spurs will be televised at the same time.
In the US, it will be available to stream on Peacock.

Early team news
It remains to be seen whether or not Trent Alexander-Arnold and Thiago Alcântara will be back available for Liverpool. Klopp's press conference was recorded a decent way in advance so no concrete update on either player was possible.
Joe Gomez would be the likeliest to play right-back if Alexander-Arnold misses out, with Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté now back and available again after suspension and injury respectively.
For West Ham, Jarrod Bowen is facing a race against time to be fit having been ill earlier in the week. He missed West Ham's Europa League victory over Bačka Topola while Aaron Cresswell came off at half-time with a muscle issue.
