ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Oregon football’s top wide receiver left the game at Michigan in the first quarter Saturday due to an apparent shoulder injury.

With the Ducks driving on their opening possession, Tez Johnson left the field and went to the Ducks’ locker room favoring his left shoulder. He returned to the Oregon sidelines with what appeared to be a sling on that shoulder, and is out for the remainder of the game.

Johnson, who had one reception for 11 yards on the opening drive, came into the game leading Oregon with 63 receptions for 638 yards and eight touchdowns.

Johnson’s replacement on punt returns, Ryan Pellum, lost a fumble late in the first quarter that gave the ball back to the Wolverines deep in Oregon territory. Pellum was later replaced by Evan Stewart on punt returns.

Johnson eventually returned to the Oregon sideline in street clothes, sporting a towel over the apparent shoulder sling.
