27 fans ejected from Michigan Stadium in Wolverines opener versus Fresno State

ANN ARBOR, MI - There were 27 fans ejected from Michigan Stadium during the Wolverines’ 30-10 opening victory over Fresno State on Saturday.

The numbers from the Aug. 31 opener were provided by the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security.

Of the 27 ejections, there were 10 for disorderly conduct and nine for intoxication, police said. There was no known affiliation with the university among these ejected fans, meaning they were not known to be students or employees, police said.

There were five ejections for stadium rules, including one student, police said. There was one for a fight and one for misuse of an MCard, or the university identification card, police said.

There was also one person ejected due to a Huron Valley Ambulance assistance, police said.

This was the first game with alcohol sales at Michigan Stadium, which included beer, wine and canned cocktails.

In 2023, there were 126 ejections from the stadium in the seven games of the home football season, as well as four arrests.

The Wolverines went to 1-0 with the victory over the visiting Bulldogs. They host the Texas Longhorns on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Michigan Stadium in the second of eight home games this season.
