Keaontay Ingram (ribs) ruled out for USC in third quarter vs UCLA

Keaontay Ingram left the UCLA game with a rib injury and did not return.

This USC season somehow, someway, continues to get worse.

The Trojans already lost Drake London, their best offensive player (and best player overall), due to a season-ending injury suffered a few weeks ago against the Arizona Wildcats.

Saturday afternoon against the UCLA Bruins, the Trojans lost their second-best offensive player, running back Keaontay Ingram.

In the third quarter, Ingram had to seek medical attention. Shotgun Spratling of 247 Sports noted that Ingram went to the medical tent to be looked over by the USC medical team. Shortly after that initial report by Spratling, Fox Sports college football reporter Bruce Feldman, doing sideline duty on television for the network’s broadcast of this game, said Ingram had been ruled out for the rest of the game due to a rib injury.

If Ingram cannot play against BYU, USC would be even more hamstrung on offense than it already is. Given how poorly USC’s defense continues to play — UCLA has become the latest opponent to hang over 40 points against the Trojans in the Los Angeles Coliseum this year — the Trojans simply can’t expect to keep pace without London and Ingram.
