ECU GAMEDAY: Three players to watch

Jaylan Knighton, RB, SMU

A Miami transfer, Knighton leads the Mustangs in rushing with 332 yards and two touchdowns. Almost half of that yardage came during the last time out against Charlotte where Knighton rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns. He broke off a 95-yard run in that game, showing just how dangerous the Mustangs can be on offense as they can score in a hurry. Knighton isn’t much of a receiving threat out of the backfield, but the senior more than makes up for it on the ground. Knighton is one of three players with at least 148 rushing yards and a touchdown, as SMU has several runners to pace the high-scoring offense. ECU has displayed a stout run defense, so watch the matchup between the Pirates’ defensive front and the 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back.
