After former Penn State guard D.J. Newbill's named surfaced in connection to an ongoing FBI Investigation into former NBA agent Andy Miller and others, Nittany Lions head coach Pat Chambers has denied any association with Miller or others.
“I have no connection or association with Andy Miller or his agency," Chambers said in a statement provided to The Daily Collegian via a Penn State spokesperson. "The University is looking into the information released on Friday. As I have stated, this program is committed to doing things the right way.”
Yahoo! Sports published an investigative report featuring documentation and bank records detailing the expenditures of former NBA agent Andy Miller and his former associate Christian Dawkins’ agency ASM Sports, both of whom are at the center of the case.
Newbill was listed on the agency’s balance sheet as having received a $2,000.00 loan.
The date listed on the document pictured in the Yahoo! Sports story is Dec. 21, 2015. Newbill graduated in 2015, but it remains unclear if he received the loan prior to his graduation.
Chambers is in his seventh year at Penn State, with the Nittany Lions set to take on Nebraska in Lincoln on Sunday.
