GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Grovetown girls thought their season was over, but their dreams of a state title stay alive thanks to Tucker being ruled ineligible.
The GHSA found Tucker guilty of breaking its recruiting and undue influence rules after conducting an investigation.
Tucker had advanced to the Elite 8, defeating Grovetown and Bradwell in the first and second rounds.
The Warriors will now play Bradwell on Wednesday, with the winner facing Harrison.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, this is the first time the GHSA has disqualified a basketball team during the state tournament.
