The Dallas Mavericks and forward Josh Green agreed to a three-year, $41 million contract extension Monday afternoon, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Green, who will turn 24 next month, averaged career highs across the board over 60 games in his third NBA season, including points per game (9.1), field goal percentage (53.7) and 3-point field goal percentage (40.2). He also started a career-best 21 times for Dallas last season.

The 18th pick in the 2020 NBA draft is expected to play a significant role in Dallas' frontcourt this season, serving as a 3-and-D wing to complement high-scoring stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving and alongside the summer's main offseason addition in Dallas, former Celtics forward Grant Williams.

Green, who played for Australia at the FIBA World Cup this offseason, was one of five players to shoot at least 40% on 3-pointers and 60% on 2-point shots last season while attempting at least 100 of each, per ESPN's Stats & Information.

The deadline for extensions for the 2020 rookie class is Monday evening.

Green becomes the 12th player to agree to an extension from the 30 first-round picks in that draft, including Aaron Nesmith with the Indiana Pacers and Cole Anthony with the Orlando Magic earlier Monday.
