CLEVELAND, Ohio -- As if playing the NBA champions wasn’t challenging enough.
Sources tell cleveland.com that sixth man Caris LeVert will join Donovan Mitchell on Sunday’s inactive list, when the Cavaliers host the Denver Nuggets at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

LeVert, who was a late addition to the injury report, has been dealing with some left knee soreness and the Cavs want to be cautious early in the season. Mitchell, meanwhile, will miss his second consecutive game because of a strained right hamstring.
In all, the short-handed Cavs will be without four of their expected rotation players. Isaac Okoro (knee soreness) and Ty Jerome (sprained ankle) remain unavailable as well. Okoro has missed the previous six games. Jerome hasn’t played since Oct. 27.
LeVert, one of the leading early-season candidates for Sixth Man of the Year, is averaging 18.0 points on 42% shooting and 31.3% from 3-point range in 33.1 minutes this season. Sunday will be his second missed game of the season.
