Roma have announced they have bought full ownership of Belgian player Radja Nainggolan and are also negotiating an extension to Victor Ibarbo’s stay at the club.
In an official statement from the club released late on Wednesday night, the Serie A runners-up announced they have secured full ownership of Nainggolan, a reported target of Real Madrid, for the sum of €9 million. The 27-year-old arrived in Rome in January 2014 after a loan from Cagliari and has since become a key player in the midfield of the Giallorossi.
“It’s a great day. I’m finally 100 per cent Giallorosso!” the player said through his Twitter account. “It’s what the club and I always wanted.”
As reported in the Italian media, the club is also close to extending the lstay of Ibarbo from Cagliari with a deal worth an estimated €5 million.
The Colombian midfielder, 25, is currently away competing in the Copa América in Chile. He arrived at the club last season after playing the previous four at Cagliari.
Ibarbo could be followed by compatriot Carlos Bacca. Italian media say Roma are interested in the Colmbian striker although Sevilla would want €30 million for him.
To raise funds, Roma hope to sell Ivory Coast striker Gervinho to Al Jazira for around €13 million.
