An ink-redible bond! Lionesses Millie Bright and Rachel Daly have celebrated their special friendship by getting matching tattoos Down Under.

The best pals revealed they've wanted to do it for years but hadn't found the right tat for them until flying out to the Sunshine Coast. In a touching tribute to their friendship, the pair had 1/2 inked on their hands to signify they are "not complete" without each other.

Asked when she knew that Millie would be her best mate, Rachel said: "Probably the day I met her to be honest. It was friends at first sight. She first came into the squad, it was only a couple of camps after me, and we just hit it off straight away.

"It was probably that Yorkshire connection - loud. We always knew, we kind of knew each other when she was at Donny and I was at Leeds and we never looked back. We always wanted to get a tattoo together, like a bestie tattoo.

"It took us ages to find the right one and we ended up going with a half on our hands because she is the other half of me, my life is not complete without her." Rachel was born in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, while Millie grew up in Chesterfield, near South Yorkshire.

Lionesses captain Millie also spoke of their amazing bond, claiming the pals have seen each other at their 'worst and best'. Speaking to the Mirror she said: "I think it's been such a natural friendship with Rach and she really has become part of the family now.

"She's definitely, you know, part of my family and I'm part of hers, but ultimately, I think we just understand each other as people. I know her at her best and at her worst, and I also know how to deal with her and what she needs.

"We've got an absolute dream of a job which is travelling the world representing our country, playing club football, competing for trophies. We get to meet all different people with different backgrounds, and I do think in football, that's how you gel, that's how you bond.

"You've all got something in common. And we are just as crazy as each other which helps so she can take my energy I can take hers.

"We wanted to get a tattoo for years, we've been thinking, thinking, thinking and eventually we came up with it and it was like our special place to get it. We're at a World Cup together.

"I think you always find probably that one friend in your lifetime that just gets you and it's just easy. Rach is Rach and I don't think I'll meet anyone else like her." After Rachel scored the sixth and final goal in the game against China last week, she celebrated by dancing with Millie and holding up a heart shape with their hands.

And it turns out the dance was a plan to surprise Millie's young cousins, who had been strutting their stuff on a catwalk in one of the FIFA fan zones in Oz before the game. Explaining the performance, Millie hinted that they have another surprise goal celebration planned if one of them can score in the game against Nigeria on Monday.

She said: "It's a funny story actually. You might see a new one. But my family went to the fan zone and they ended up doing a catwalk. That's typical of my family. My cousins are only young and they designed the dance. So we surprised them and then we did that for the celebration."
