A look at this week’s Post Preps Top 10 for Class 5A, 4A and 3A:

Class 5A

Team Record Pvs LW

1. Cherry Creek 1-0 1 W (35-9 vs. Ralston Valley)
Comment: One week in, and the Bruins defense looks stingy as ever. Ralston Valley’s lone TD came on a fumble return. This week: vs. Legacy, 7 p.m. Thursday.
2. Regis Jesuit 1-0 6 W (24-21 vs. Valor Christian)
Comment: After taking down Valor Christian — three TDs from Albert Medina and a game-winning field goal from sophomore Jack Manthey did it — the Raiders face another stiff test. This week: vs. Kennedy Catholic (Burien, Wash.), 7 p.m. Saturday.
3. Grandview 1-0 4 W (48-6 vs. Overland)
Comment: The Wolves couldn’t have been much more impressive in Week 1. This week: vs. Fossil Ridge, 7 p.m. Friday.
4. Ralston Valley 1-1 2 L (35-9 at Cherry Creek)
Comment: Hard to ding a team too much for losing to Cherry Creek. Still, it’s a tad concerning RV has 22 points through two games. This week: Bye.
5. Pine Creek 1-0 3 W (Forfeit vs. Las Vegas)
Comment: Will the Eagles be well-rested or rusty for their showdown with Valor Christian after their Week 1 opponent forfeited? This week: vs. No. 7 Valor Christian, 7 p.m. Sept. 1
6. Columbine 1-0 7 W (56-6 at Mullen)
Comment: The Rebels allowed just 28 yards rushing in a Week 1 win. This week: at Freedom (Orlando, Fla.), 5 p.m. Thursday.
7. Valor Christian 0-1 5 L (24-21 at Regis Jesuit)
Comment: The bad news? The Eagles lost their season opener to Regis Jesuit for the second straight season. The good news? Last year’s team reached the 5A title game anyway. This week: at No. 5 Pine Creek, 7 p.m. Friday.
8. Chatfield 1-0 10 W (27-24 at Cherokee Trail)
Comment: The Chargers get a bye week followed by a home matchup with Cherry Creek. That is how you schedule, friends. This week: Bye
9. Arapahoe 1-0 NR W (31-9 at Legacy)
Comment: A breakout star in Week 1? How about sophomore Trajan Fraser, who ripped off 108 yards on 17 carries against Legacy. This week: vs. 4A No. 9 Heritage, 7 p.m. Friday.
10. Fairview 1-0 9 W (44-3 at Highlands Ranch)
Comment: The Jordan Rechel Age is upon us. Last week he had a tidy 256 all-purpose yards and three TDs. This week: vs. Lakewood, 7 p.m. Friday.

Class 4A

Team Record Pvs LW

1. Palmer Ridge 1-0 2 W (28-27 vs. Montrose)
Comment: It doesn’t get much better than a come-from-behind win over a Montrose team known to eat metal. This week: at No. 8 Mesa Ridge, 7 p.m. Thursday.
2. Broomfield 1-0 3 W (42-14 at Longmont)
Comment: No Cole LaCrue, no problem. The Eagles put a 42-spot on Longmont. This week: vs. 3A No. 4 Holy Family, 7 p.m. Friday.
3. Ponderosa 1-0 5 W (56-21 vs. Fort Collins)
Comment: Two Mustangs topped 100 yards receiving — Max Mervin (217) and Dylan Karsteter (105) — and two exceeded 100 yards passing — Marcus Price (269) and Aurelio Marchiol (113) — vs. Fort Collins. Yikes. This week: vs. Chaparral, 7 p.m. Friday.
4. Erie 0-1 1 L (26-20 at Vanguard, Ocala, Fla.)
Comment: A trip to Florida went sour after Kansas State-bound QB Blake Barnett tossed three interceptions. Get those out early. This week: vs. Mullen, 7 p.m. Friday.
5. Montrose 0-1 7 L (28-27 at Palmer Ridge)
Comment: When do you rise in the rankings after a loss? When it’s by one point at the top-ranked team’s place. This week: vs. Fruita Monument, 7 p.m. Friday.
6. Loveland 1-0 8 W (28-26 vs. Fossil Ridge)
Comment: This just in: The Red Wolves know how to pound the rock. Again. This week: vs. Mountain View, 7 p.m. Friday.
7. Pueblo West 2-0 NR W (21-14 vs. Dakota Ridge)
Comment: After upsetting Dakota Ridge to start the season 2-0, it appears the Cyclones are a 4A power once again. This week: vs. Pueblo County, 7 p.m. Friday.
8. Mesa Ridge 1-0 9 W (57-0 vs. Kennedy)
Comment: After averaging 10.6 yards per carry in Week 1, the Grizzlies get to see how real their rushing attack is against Palmer Ridge. This week: vs. No. 1 Palmer Ridge, 7 p.m. Thursday
9. Heritage 0-1 4 L (35-34 vs. Mountain Vista)
Comment: Give the Eagles this much: They aren’t afraid to trade haymakers with the 5A big boys. This week: at No. 9 Arapahoe, 7 p.m. Friday.
10. Dakota Ridge 0-1 6 L (21-14 at Pueblo West)
Comment: A trip to the Sunshine State awaits after a rough loss in Pueblo. This week: at East River (Orlando, Fla.), 7 p.m. Friday

Class 3A

Team Record Pvs LW

1. Lutheran 1-0 1 W (56-6 at Lutheran, St. Peters, Mo.)
Comment: The battle of the Lutherans was about as one-sided as it gets. The Mavericks should provide a stiffer test. This week: vs. Mead, 7 p.m. Friday.
2. Green Mountain 1-0 2 W (36-0 vs. Golden)
Comment: The Rams pass defense was spectacular in Week 1. Now comes a date with the Severance passing combination of QB Jaden Hoffman and WR Jeremiah Hoffman. Buckle up. This week: at Severance, 7 p.m. Friday.
3. Roosevelt 1-0 3 W (49-6 at Palisade)
Comment: Those hoping for a step back from the defending 3A champs will be sorely disappointed. This week: vs. Kennedy, 7 p.m. Friday.
4. Holy Family 1-0 4 W (28-8 vs. Frederick)
Comment: A crosstown showdown with defending 4A champion Broomfield? Awfully ambitious. This week: vs. 4A No. 2 Broomfield, 7 p.m. Friday
5. Pueblo East 1-0 1-0 W (35-13 vs. Cheyenne Mountain)
Comment: QB Domnick Sierra was brilliant in a season-opening win that saw two Eagles receivers top 100 yards — Izaiah Trujillo (121) and Pocky Amaro (107). This week: at Pueblo Central, 7 p.m. Thursday.
6. Northridge 1-0 NR W (37-0 vs. Gateway)
Comment: The Grizzlies defense couldn’t have been more dominant last week with five tackles for loss, two sacks and a pair of interceptions.  This week: at Evergreen, 7 p.m. Friday.
7. Durango 0-1 5 L (39-20 at Farmington, N.M.)
Comment: The Demons love to sharpen their sword against tough competition across the border. This week: vs. Piedra Vista (Farmington, N.M.), 7 p.m. Friday.
8. Northfield 1-0 NR W (53-0 vs. Aurora Central)
Comment: The Nighthawks are a short ride from fellow DPS schools George Washington (3A) and Far Northeast (4A), but play neither. What gives? This week: Bye.
9. Frederick 0-1 6 L (28-8 at Holy Family)
Comment: Matt Loyd’s crew gets no breaks with unbeaten 4A challenger Monarch (2-0) coming up on a short week. This week: vs. Monarch, 7 p.m. Thursday.
10. George Washington 1-0 NR W (53-0 at Hinkley)
Comment: The Patriots picked up right where they left off from last season. This week: vs. Falcon, 6 p.m. Thursday.
