Skyline had to forfeit its 35-16 win over Mansfield Legacy on Sept. 22, Legacy football coach Jeff Hulme confirmed Thursday.
Hulme said Skyline self-reported that it played a player in the first half of the Legacy game who had been ejected from the previous contest. The player was not eligible to play in the first half because of the previous ejection.
“They did it the right way and did the right thing,” Hulme said of Skyline self-reporting the issue.
Dallas ISD officials didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
It will go down as a 1-0 win for Legacy.
With the forfeit, Skyline will fall to 1-4 overall and to 0-2 in District 11-6A. Legacy improves to 2-3 and 1-1. That leaves Legacy tied with Waxahachie for fourth place in the district.
Matt Stepp from Dave Campbell’s Texas Football was the first to report the news of the forfeit.
