LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WMBB) – Last month, Maximus Inc., the federal-contracted call center company, announced its plans to close its Lynn Haven office this Spring.
In a Facebook post, the company said “We are expanding our remote work opportunities and will transition the majority of regular-service staff to work from home at our Lynn Haven, Florida site because of our ‘Work from Home’ program’s continued success,” and that “we will close the physical Lynn Haven location when our lease expires at the end of May.”
While the company seems to retain the majority of its workers as they move to remote work, there has reportedly been a round of layoffs affecting around 100 people.
Local sources have confirmed that officials with the Bay Economic Alliance, Bay County, and the City of Lynn Haven have already met to discuss marketing the massive facility to potential new tenants.
