Idrissa Gueye returns to the Everton side for today's game with Stoke City in the only change made by manager Sam Allardyce.

Gueye missed last weekend's win over Brighton through illness and replaces Gylfi Sigurdsson who is out injured with a knee problem.

Otherwise Allardyce has kept faith with the side that started the 2-0 victory over the Seagulls at Goodison in the hope they can secure only their second league win of the season away from home.

Everton are looking to arrest a run of six straight defeats on the road in all competitions with a win at the bet365 Stadium this afternoon taking them to Allardyce's 40 point target.

Jordan Pickford, called into the England squad this week, continues in goal with Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane, Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines making up the defence.

Gueye comes into midfield alongside Wayne Rooney and Tom Davies with Allardyce going for a front three of Theo Walcott, Cenk Tosun and Yannick Bolasie.

Joel Robles is on the bench alongside Morgan Schneiderlin, Cuco Martina, Oumar Niasse, Davy Klaassen, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Mason Holgate.

Meanwhile, Xherdan Shaqiri starts for Stoke City, despite reports he was set to miss the game with a calf injury.

Everton: Pickford, Coleman, Jagielka, Keane, Baines; Davies, Rooney, Gueye, Walcott, Bolasie; Tosun
