TV picks for Sunday, April 22

WATCH THIS:

“Dateline NBC” (7 p.m., NBC): Savannah Guthrie sits down for an exclusive, in-depth interview with former USA Gymnastics National Team Coordinators Bela and Martha Karolyi, speaking for the first time on the biggest sex abuse scandal in the history of Olympic sports. Guthrie visits the couple at Karolyi Ranch in Texas, the site of the National Team Training Center until recently, where many gymnasts were sexually abused by Olympic team doctor Larry Nassar. Also included: Interviews with gymnasts McKayla Maroney and Aly Raisman.

“American Idol” (8 p.m., ABC): OK, viewers, now it’s up to you. After solo and celebrity duet performances with the top 24 contestants, the judges narrowed down the field to the top 14 finalists. From here on out, audience voting determines everything — unless Russian hackers get involved.

“Westworld” (9 p.m. Sunday, HBO): It’s payback time as the dark, mind-bending thriller returns for its highly anticipated second season. When we last left the futuristic theme park, its enslaved “hosts” had learned that they weren’t actually humans, but androids programmed to follow a script and serve at the pleasure of their flesh-and-bone guests. Cue the robot rebellion. As the saga resumes, the androids, including Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) and Maeve (Thandie Newton), have revenge on their minds. Better not cross them.

“Luis Miguel — The Series” (9 p.m., Telemundo): The renowned superstar and Grammy Award-winning recording artist shares his life story for the first time in this authorized drama. Miguel is played by Diego Boneta. Set in Mexico, the series explores his childhood in the early 1980s and what led up to his massive success as a recording artist in the 90’s.

“Into the Badlands” (10 p.m., AMC): As Season 3 of the martial-arts drama  begins, Sunny is living off the grid, doing his best to provide for his infant son. Soon, however, you just know he’ll have to kick some butt again.

“Timeless” (10 p.m., NBC): Rufus and Jiya add a fourth seat to the Lifeboat. For the first time ever, Connor Mason joins the team as they travel back to the dusty backroads and smoky juke joints of the Depression-era South to rescue the life and legacy of musician Robert Johnson (guest star Kamahl Naiqui).

“Madam Secretary” (10 p.m., CBS): Elizabeth’s negotiations for a security agreement combatting gang violence in South America becomes complicated when she attempts to free an American recently kidnapped there.
