Here at Aggies Wire, we have been doing our absolute best to prepare you for Texas A&M’s upcoming season opener against Sam Houston State which is now only hours away. But regardless of all the chaos that any week leading up to the first game of the season brings, let me remind you that recruiting never stops, and some fabulous news involving one of the top 2024 and priority recruits for the Aggies was announced on Thursday night.
According to the popular recruiting site On3, 2024 quarterback DJ Lagway is reportedly visiting College Station, Texas this Saturday, Sept. 3rd, to take in the Sam Houston State matchup at the start of his visit.
Lagway is a 4-Star recruit, the 31st ranked player and the 5th ranked quarterback in the class, as well as the 3rd, ranked player in Texas in accordance with On3 consensus rankings. On3 also currently projects Lagway as a 67.3% favorite to land with the Aggies, which would be quite the relief for Jimbo Fisher & co. after missing out on a number of quarterbacks in the 2023 recruiting class so far.
Lagway is in the midst of his junior season at Willis High School in Willis, Texas, as the duel threat is coming off of an impressive 2021 season where he accumulated 1,579 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and only 2 interceptions while picking up 715 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground.
