Ricky White’s college career isn’t over just yet.

White, a Georgia native who became a household name during his freshman season at Michigan State in 2020 thanks to his 8-catch, 198-yard performance in a win against Michigan, announced he is retuning to UNLV for his senior season.

His announcement came during media day ahead of Tuesday’s Guaranteed Rate Bowl, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

“I definitely want to stay another year,” White said. “I want to develop here. I have a great QB and great coaches around me to help me grow, and a great team, also. I’m definitely going to stay another year, develop, and show the scouts what they want to see.”

White, 4-star recruit out of high school, was essentially a one-hit wonder in East Lansing. He caught just one more pass after his heroics in Ann Arbor, a 22-yarder against Iowa, before siting out the rest of the 2020 season.

He then missed all of 2021 amid plenty of speculation before landing in Las Vegas, where he led the team in receiving in 2022. He then exploded in 2023, breaking the program’s 42-year-old record for single-season receiving yards with 1,386.

He also had 81 catches for 7 touchdowns and figures to be one of the top wide receivers in the country in 2024.

Most NFL mock drafts project the 6-foot-1, 190-pound White as a Day 3 pick (Rounds 4-7) if he were to declare for the 2024 draft. He will look to improve his stock next season, and in the Rebels’ bowl game.

UNLV plays Kansas in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl in Phoenix at 9 p.m. It opens its 2024 season at Houston on Aug. 31.
