1. A Michigan-based mortgage lender is now facing a federal lawsuit over it’s business tactics. United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) accused of restricting brokers from working with other lenders after making them sign an all-in agreement. The lawsuit claims the company pressured brokers to send their clients to UWM, which in turn pushed homebuyers into expensive mortgages. The company, in a statement, called the lawsuit a sham and said it’ll fully defend itself from the accusations.

2. A new study is hoping to find ways to increase genetic testing to identify types of cancer that can run in families. The Michigan Genetic Hereditary Testing, or MiGHT, is looking for people diagnosed with cancer or who have a family history of cancer. The study is funded by a $4 million grant from the National Institutes of Health’s Cancer Moonshot program. Researchers hope it will help more people with inherited risk for cancer get genetic testing.
